We’ve seen carriers tweaking their data plans a lot lately, and not just the lesser-known prepaid carriers. This time around is FNB Connect, which had recently made some changes to how it throttled certain plans, excuse us, we mean it’s data depletion and out of bundle notifications and now the connected carrier is introducing rollover data as well as transfers to all it’s customers.
As expected, this means that high-speed data that wasn’t used in one month will roll over into the next month, assuming the plan is renewed without lapsing. While data can only be transferred from one FNB Connect number to another FNB Connect number.
These developments are in alignment with the Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA) requirements on data expiry and data transfer for all mobile network providers.
