Ever since it officially hit our small screens back on the 21st of January 2018, The Resident has been a fave not only for us viewers but also its broadcasting custodian, Fox. Now officially in its third season (back on Tuesdays at 20:45 CAT from 21 January 2020), The Resident continues to rip back the curtain and reveal the truth of what really happens, both good and bad, in hospitals across the country. The provocative medical drama follows a group of doctors at Chastain Memorial Hospital, as they face personal and professional challenges on a daily basis while fighting for their patients.
In Season Three, Red Rock Mountain Medical has taken over, inserting its own doctors – including new neurosurgeon Dr. Barrett Cain (Morris Chestnut, Rosewood) – and nurses into the well-oiled machine that was once Chastain Memorial Hospital, and causing the doctors to fight harder than ever against the corrupting influence of money in healthcare. The hospital is being run like a profit-hungry corporation – reaping huge financial gains, while risking the lives of its patients.
“The third season of audience-favourite The Resident kicks off what is sure to be an exciting year of television for Fox fans, with a generous slate of genre-defining series. We look forward to more nail-biting moments as the team at Chastain Memorial Hospital get put to the test every episode. The challenges faced by these courageous characters are sure to keep audiences glued to their screens. In fact, it’s just what the doctor ordered for a good start to the year!” said Evert van der Veer, VP, Media Networks, The Walt Disney Company Africa.
The Resident is produced by 20th Century Fox Television. The series’ executive producers include Todd Harthan, Amy Holden Jones, Rob Corn, Antoine Fuqua, David Boorstein, Oly Obst and Elizabeth Klaviter.
Remember to catch the third season of The Resident on Fox (Dstv Channel 125) at 20:45 CAT on Tuesday, 21 January 2020. One thing is for sure, as massive fan boys of it, we can’t wait!
