The heading easily gives away (excuse the pun) our focus today from the onset. Netflix’s new upcoming series Away truly is a story about hope, courage, faith, diversity, teamwork and accepting individual differences. It also doesn’t hurt that it’s a great watch with the storytelling set across different dimensions namely here on earth as well as in space. Despite how it may seem, be rest assured that Away doesn’t require you to be a fan of sci-fi as it’s more of a drama thriller that most people can easily watch and equally enjoy.
The story is driven by a strong cast who each get their fair share of screen time making it easy to understand their stories something that is central to the entire story. As mentioned prior, in addition to sci-fi, Away will also find favor with people who are into drama which is of course most of us. It is set as an emotional drama on an epic scale that celebrates the incredible advancements humans can achieve and the personal sacrifices they must make along the way.
As American astronaut Emma Green (Hilary Swank) prepares to lead an international crew on the first mission to Mars, she must reconcile her decision to leave behind her husband (Josh Charles) and teenage daughter (Talitha Bateman) when they need her the most. As the crew’s journey into space intensifies, their personal dynamics and the effects of being away from their loved ones back on Earth become increasingly complex.
Away shows that sometimes to reach for the stars, we must leave home behind. And that’s really most of its premise, a story about coverage and one that inspires in many aspects. In addition to that it also symbolises a story that embraces change, societal advancement and cultural diversity. This is thanks to the diversity of the crew who venture into the exciting but equally daunting adventure into space.
All set for you to watch this coming Friday as we initially pointed out here, Away enables you to escape while watching. The mark of a good series is it’s ability to tempt you to watch the next episode right after the last one has ended. Of course with Netflix you are easily able to do that and no doubt you will feel the urge to with this one. We’re trying to not give too much away (again, excuse the pun) here and rather have you watch for yourself and trust us it’s worth binging the entire day so clear your schedule to do so.
