Spike Lee is one of the most recognisable names around, his influence on youth culture, namely in Hip Hop music, sports and movies has been immense to say the least. He’s back, this time linking up with Netflix on a new joint set to hit our screens on 12 June. Officially titled DA 5 Bloods, this one looks like a very interesting project with a mixture of other previous movie titles included, masterfully from what we can tell, watch the trailer and you’ll see what we mean:
From Academy Award® Winner Spike Lee comes a New Joint: the story of four African-American Vets — Paul (Delroy Lindo), Otis (Clarke Peters), Eddie (Norm Lewis), and Melvin (Isiah Whitlock, Jr.) – who return to Vietnam. Searching for the remains of their fallen Squad Leader (Chadwick Boseman) and the promise of buried treasure, our heroes, joined by Paul’s concerned son (Jonathan Majors), battle forces of Man and Nature — while confronted by the lasting ravages of The Immorality of The Vietnam War.
It’s written by Danny Bilson, Paul DeMeo, Kevin Willmott and Spike Lee. We look forward to checking it out when it lands next month on the 12th.
