FlySafair has become the first South African airline to partner with the popular messaging service WhatsApp.
Customers of the Gauteng-based carrier can now get booking confirmations and boarding passes via WhatsApp.
The partnership forms part of a bigger roll-out that was once part of a WhatsApp initiative to test ways for customers and businesses to communicate through the app.
“Over and above providing a low-fare and on-time travel experience, we want to ensure that our passengers have access to a hassle-free experience. And that is what we aim to achieve by enabling our passengers to receive their boarding pass via WhatsApp. Our commitment to provide a solid and convenient experience goes beyond the service our passengers receive in the skies, it begins on the ground.” FlySafair head of sales and distribution; Kirby Gordon said. “We want to be where our customers are, and given the 1 billion users, you have to be on WhatsApp.”
