Earlier this week Samsung held a global press conference in Seoul, Korea to showcase their vision for the future of connected homes. Under the banner of “Bespoke AI,” the tech giant revealed an impressive lineup of smart appliances designed to work together seamlessly while addressing everyday household challenges. As someone who’s followed Samsung’s evolution in the smart home space, I was particularly interested to see how they’re integrating AI across their product ecosystem.
The Central Vision: AI Home Display
At the core of Samsung’s strategy is the expanded AI Home display technology. Building on last year’s introduction, they’re now incorporating these smart screens into a wider range of products. What caught my attention was how they’re scaling the display sizes to suit different appliances while maintaining consistent functionality.
The new Bespoke AI Refrigerators feature a 9-inch AI Home screen that offers many of the same capabilities as the larger AI Family Hub™ displays. Meanwhile, the Bespoke AI Laundry line incorporates a 7-inch screen that not only controls washing and drying functions but also serves as a hub for managing other connected devices throughout the home.
Let’s break down the key products Samsung unveiled:
Smarter Refrigeration
The Bespoke AI Hybrid Refrigerator uses artificial intelligence to monitor and predict internal temperature changes, adjusting cooling efficiently based on current conditions. Perhaps more impressively, the upgraded AI Vision Inside can now automatically recognize processed food items, making inventory management much more intuitive.
Laundry Innovations

Samsung’s laundry lineup received substantial upgrades with the introduction of AI Wash+ and AI Dry+ in standalone models. For European markets, they highlighted energy efficiency with models using up to 55% less energy than class A minimum requirements.
The standout announcement was the Bespoke AI Laundry Vented Combo, which Samsung claims is the first vented combo in its class. This innovation significantly cuts drying time, completing both washing and drying in just 68 minutes on the Super Speed cycle.
Cleaning Solutions
Two vacuum innovations caught my eye during the presentation. First, the cordless Bespoke AI Jet Ultra boasts what Samsung calls the world’s most powerful suction at up to 400W. The upgraded AI Cleaning Mode 2.0 can now identify various environments including corners and different carpet types for optimized cleaning.
What’s more impressive is the Bespoke AI Jet Bot Steam Ultra, a robot vacuum designed to navigate challenging home environments. It can climb over thresholds and recognizes obstacles as small as 1cm—even detecting transparent liquids. A clever pop-out brush activates when it encounters corners or walls, addressing spaces that typically challenge robot vacuums.
The Connected Experience
Beyond individual products, Samsung emphasized three core benefits of their AI Home vision: ease of use, care, and savings.
The AI Home display serves as a central control hub that can even connect third-party devices through SmartThings without requiring a separate hub device. Features like Daily Board provide personalized information, while Map View offers intuitive monitoring of connected devices.
Voice control has also been enhanced with upgrades to Bixby, including a new Voice ID feature that recognizes individual users and automatically switches to their Samsung account, displaying their personal calendar and preferences.

One of the more thoughtful additions is the new Family Care service within SmartThings, which sends alerts if a user’s movement isn’t detected at expected times or if there’s no activity for an extended period. The system can even deploy a robot vacuum to check for emergency situations, all secured by Samsung Knox security.
Security and Longevity
Samsung appears to be taking security seriously, applying enhanced Knox protections across their lineup. All Wi-Fi enabled appliances launching in 2025 will include Trust Chain (part of Knox Matrix), allowing users to monitor security status in real time.
For the first time, Knox Vault is being applied to home appliances, storing sensitive information like passwords in a separate hardware chip. Looking ahead to future threats, Samsung is implementing post-quantum cryptography for screen-equipped products.
I was glad to see Samsung addressing software longevity as well. Their Smart Forward update service promises to deliver new features to existing appliances through SmartThings, potentially extending the useful life of these investments.
Maintenance is also getting smarter with SmartThings Home Care, which uses AI to diagnose appliance status and send advance notifications of potential malfunctions. Technical support representatives can even provide remote guidance based on pre-diagnosis results, a service now expanding to more countries including France, Netherlands, and Canada.
As these products roll out globally throughout 2025, it will be interesting to see how consumers respond to this increasingly integrated approach to home management and how they are applied by local users. If Samsung can deliver on the promise of intuitive, secure, and continuously improving smart appliances, they may well redefine our expectations for the modern home.
