Majority of running watches available in South Africa aren’t really worth the.. watch. Or is it our lack of interest thereof? You can’t say that about Garmin’s new Forerunner 220 and 620, both of which carry one-inch colour screens that provide clearer visual cues and new run or walk alerts. The device can either sync data to a phone or PC through bluetooth or via Wifi (620 model only). As you guessed, the 620 is rather of its weary abilities as it can gauge peak oxygen volumes, estimate race times based on likely endurance.
Interested athletes can pick the Forerunner 220 (in black, red and white, violet) and 620 (in blue, black and white, orange, white) this festive season from R3840 and R5799 respectively. Whereabouts on availability are yet to be confirmed.
