If Jozi was anything to go by, Cape Town is in for something truly unforgettable. This past weekend, the Corona Sunsets Festival lit up Joburg with golden-hour magic, and now the iconic global festival series has its sights set on Clifton Beach. Mark your calendar for Saturday, 21 March 2026 because the Mother City is about to host one of the most anticipated events on South Africa’s cultural calendar.
More Than Just Music
Corona Sunsets isn’t your typical music festival. Built around the philosophy of “More Than Music,” the event blends live performances with moments of mindfulness, creativity, and connection. Expect curated wellness workshops, sustainable food gardens, live art, and interactive experiences—all designed to slow you down and immerse you fully in the magic of golden hour.

At the Johannesburg edition, the More Than Music Pavilion featured thought leaders like yoga and meditation guide Dr. Anesu Mbizvo, mantra and movement facilitator Mandla Enoch (the African Dragonfly), and a lineup of sustainability changemakers who brought the festival’s Protect Our Sunset initiative to life. These experiences set the tone for what Cape Town festivalgoers can look forward to next year.
Johannesburg’s Golden Moment
The sold-out Joburg event (which we were lucky to form part of) drew a whopping 12,000 festivalgoers to Casalinga in Muldersdrift, where nature and music collided in the best way possible. The lineup was a powerhouse mix of South Africa’s finest—Major League DJz, DBN Gogo, Jeremy Loops, and Afro-rock legends 340ML, alongside unforgettable performances from Zakes Bantwini, DJ Kent, FKA Mash, Oscar Mbo, and the Ndlovu Youth Choir.

But it wasn’t only about the music. From Daniel Popper’s monumental art installation to a Corona-branded hot air balloon, aerial acrobats, drum circles, and wellness sessions, every detail reminded festivalgoers that this is more than a party—it’s an experience. The night ended on a high with the Ndlovu Youth Choir’s stirring performance of When the Sun Goes Down during the iconic Sunset Moment.
Reaching Millions Beyond the Festival Grounds
For the first time ever, the festival experience stretched far beyond Casalinga thanks to an exclusive partnership with the SABC. The live broadcast across SABC 1, S3, and SABC Plus brought the magic of Corona Sunsets into millions of South African homes, celebrating both the music and the culture that makes this country shine.
Cape Town, You’re Next
With Joburg still buzzing from the weekend, the countdown is officially on. On 21 March 2026, Clifton Beach will transform into a playground of sound, art, and golden-hour celebration. Whether you come for the music, the mindfulness, or simply to watch the sun dip into the Atlantic, the Corona Sunsets Festival promises an experience you won’t want to miss.
