The Golden Globes continue to be a big deal in the movie and series universe and this year’s nominations have been recently confirmed. Twenty-five of those have featured on DStv in the past year and as our continent’s most loved storyteller, DStv continues to be dedicated to bringing the best of the world home, from the top studios and broadcasters around the globe which means local audiences continue to have access to award-winning international content.
Speaking of the awards, this year marks the 78th time they’ve been in existence. They’re set to be broadcast on Sunday, 28 February on M-Net (DStv Channel 101) at 03:00. In case you are interested then you can access the full list of nominees here.
The Undoing is the mystery psychological thriller that has stacked up the most nominations – a whopping four potential awards – which shouldn’t be a surprise given its all-star cast that includes Nicole Kidman and Hugh Grant. The Undoing premiered 30 November and is available on Showmax.

Another potential winner is Music, which is directed by Sia and stars Kate Hudson, Leslie Odom Jr and Maddie Ziegler. Music will be available as a cinema premiere on Dstv Box Office from 12 February this year.
This year’s highly anticipated Golden Globes event has classic comedic duo Amy Poehler and Tina Fey as its heavyweight hosts.

Content that aired on DStv which has been nominated for the Golden Globes include:
- Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist which premiered 7 November and is available on the DStv App.
- Killing Eve which aired 14 April on FOX (DStv Channel 125)
- Tenet which is available to rent on BoxOffice.
- Mrs America which premiered 28 September on M-Net (DStv Channel 101)
- The Comey Rule which premiered 15 December on M-Net (DStv Channel 101)
Golden Globe Award winner Cate Blanchett is in the running to win once again for her portrayal of Phyllis Schlafly in Mrs America which aired locally on M-Net (DStv Channel 101)

Other nominated shows include Lovecraft County, centered around the 1950s Jim Crow America in which a black man searches for his missing father while having to survive terrifying monsters as well as racial terrors. The series is available on M-Net City (DStv Channel 115) every Tuesday at 21:40 and on Showmax.
Coming to DStv soon is The Flight Attendant, one of this year’s standout shows which racked up two Golden Globe nominations and features a stellar cast which includes Big Bang Theory‘s Kaley Cuoco. Other nominated shows coming to DStv also include: Normal People, Nomadland and The Croods: A New Age.

The Showmax content nominated includes: Ramy, The Good Lord Bird and Black Monday, all of which can be found on DStv’s Explora Ultra decoder, a one-stop-shop for entertainment where viewers can easily switch between streaming services including other Golden Globe nominated content from Showmax, Box Office and Netflix.
