LDV, part of the massive SAIC automotive group, has confirmed that a wide range of their passenger vehicles and commercial vans are prepped for local introduction.
The first to arrive will be the LDV T60 double cab bakkie, which has already begun shipping to dealerships for a May launch. This global best-seller is known for its toughness in climates similar to South Africa’s, making it a perfect fit.
But the T60 is just the beginning. LDV South Africa is gearing up to bring even more models to our shores, according to Ockert Conradie, the General Manager.
The D90 SUV
Following the T60 bakkie, LDV plans to introduce the D90 SUV. This popular seven-seater is another Australian favourite, thanks to its powerful diesel engines, 4×4 and 4×2 drivetrain options, and impressive 5-star safety rating.

We can expect the D90 to come equipped with a 160 kW bi-turbo diesel engine, mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. An intelligent all-terrain response system ensures confident handling on any road.
This isn’t just any D90, though. Conradie highlights that South Africa will get the new generation model, boasting the latest engine and infotainment technology. Think features like multi-zone climate control, a JBL sound system, and up to three differential locks for the 4×4 models.
The G90 MPV joins the party
Luxury seekers will be excited about the upcoming arrival of the LDV G90 MPV. This model redefines what an MPV can be, offering features like independently adjustable rear seats, quilted leather upholstery, a massive panoramic sunroof, and a cutting-edge multi-screen infotainment system that stretches across the dashboard.
The G90 will be available in both seven-seater and eight-seater configurations, with the seven-seater offering a unique captain’s seat setup for maximum comfort.
LDV stands on business
LDV South Africa isn’t just catering to passenger vehicle needs. They’re finalizing a lineup of commercial vehicles to support businesses of all sizes.

The first to arrive will be the G10+ Delivery Van. This medium-sized panel van boasts 5.2 cubic meters of secure cargo space, a fuel-efficient 2-liter diesel engine, and an automatic transmission for smooth operation. Dual sliding doors add to its functionality.
All LDV models will come with a comprehensive 5-year/200,000 km factory warranty and a 5-year/100,000 km service plan, giving you peace of mind on the road.
