Having officially launched last month, Disney+ has made a couple of exciting announcements and today the streaming service has unveiled the series, I Am Groot. If you have been following the Marvel trilogy which includes The Guardians of the Galaxy franchise then you will be very familiar with this character. I Am Groot follows an impressive list of other Marvel movie characters (Hawkeye, WandaVision, Loki and more) who have swapped the big screen for its smaller cousin.
I Am Groot is the first original Guardians of the Galaxy spinoff so far, but we’re sure it isn’t the last. It is the latest Marvel Studios addition to their exciting summer lineup and will launch on August 10. The series is a collection of five original shorts starring Baby Groot, everyone’s favorite little tree, and will feature several new and unusual characters. All five shorts will be available for viewers to watch upon launch.

Marvel Studios teased the upcoming series in a tweet, complete with a poster of Baby Groot chilling out atop one of the headphones attached to Peter Quill’s (played by Chris Pratt) iconic Walkman. I Am Groot is set to debut just before another exciting addition on the horizon, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, slated for August 17.
There’s no guarding the galaxy from this mischievous toddler! So get ready as Baby Groot takes center stage in his very owns series, exploring his glory days growing up—and getting into trouble—among the stars.
Vin Diesel, who is the voice of Groot in the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise, voices Baby Groot. The writer/director is Kirsten Lepore, and the executive producers are Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Brad Winderbaum and James Gunn.
