Sure, the Google search box in Android lets you dictate regular text messages, but what if your conversations live in a non-standard chat app? You can relax as of today. Google announced that its ‘now’ service supports using your voice to send messages in English through a handful of third-party services, including WhatsApp, Viber, NextPlus, Telegram and WeChat. English they said. All you have to do is name the service when you’re issuing the command like; “send a WhatsApp message to Bob” will make sure that your friend gets your missive where he’s expecting it.
Although we’re told mroe apps and languages are in the cards, I couldn’t wait to try the feature out. As their presser mentioned, the service only works in ENGLISH, I had plenty of trouble with my vernac contact list (big ups to those whose parents knew what the future holds) so don’t despair if your favorite mode of communication isn’t compatible right away.
