Just over a ear ago, the government said it was working on proposals to make outdoor public WiFi available in all Metro cities, and, well, that has not come to pass. Today, Mweb has announced their efforts of activating their first WiFi high street. To celebrate this the lucky mile, situated in Durban’s Florida Road was treated to a twitter-powered WiFi light art installation demonstration that practically highlighted the possibilities that high-speed WiFi brings. But is it worth the vibe? Well, this outfit has freed up to 10Mbps in some area zones (depending on the number of devices connected) but, according to Mweb, its not about the speed; but about the rich media experience.
If you’re thinking your favourite shop’s network couldn’t get any faster and richer, think again. MWEB WiFi Zones ensure that ‘connected’ consumers have instant; uninterrupted access to their online world to augment their social experiences, while giving business owners the opportunity to enhance their core offering to their customers.
