Are you an introvert and often cringe at the thought of having to attend networking events which mostly consist of big crowds? If that’s the case then this one’s for you. In a new book “Networking for Introverts” best-selling author Helen Nicholson provides a step-by-step guide for introverts, that will not only help them overcome these challenges, but also teach them to harness the introvert skills of listening, thoughtful communication and focus as super-powers, to connect with people more deeply and build an advantageous network.
Introverts, the world over, find social situations stressful because they often feel drained by prolonged social interactions and large gatherings. Unlike extroverts, who gain energy from being around others, introverts recharge through solitude and quiet time. Additionally, the need for small talk and quick thinking in social settings can be overwhelming for introverts, who typically prefer deeper, more meaningful conversations.
“So often, I hear: I’m really good at what I do, yet no-one other than my direct boss knows how good I am. I over-rely on my technical expertise, which I increasingly realise is not enough. I hate going to functions and don’t want to be seen as the schmoozer. I know I’m better than this, yet my career, position or salary isn’t reflecting it,” says Helen Nicholson.
“If this sounds familiar, then you’re in the right place. I look forward to sharing some of the insights I’ve gained over the past 20 years, training and speaking to people all over the world about how to increase their business networks. Networking for Introverts” is an A-Z manual on how to develop a powerful personal brand as an Introvert, and a power network that will serve you throughout your life. I’ve poured my heart and soul into this book and shared every nugget I believe will be useful in both your personal life and your career,” she shares.
