Fujifilm South Africa has unveiled the X-T30 III, the latest addition to its acclaimed X Series mirrorless camera lineup. Set to arrive in South Africa on 6 December 2025, this compact powerhouse promises professional-grade image quality in a lightweight package.

Lightweight Design Meets Professional Performance

The Fujifilm X-T30 III weighs just 378g, making it one of the lightest cameras in its class. Its classic centre viewfinder design maintains the timeless aesthetic Fujifilm cameras are known for, while packing cutting-edge technology inside.

At the heart of the X-T30 III sits a 26.1MP X-Trans CMOS 4 back-illuminated sensor paired with the X-Processor 5 image processing engine—the same processor found in Fujifilm’s flagship X-T5. This combination delivers twice the processing speed of its predecessor, the X-T30 II, ensuring faster performance and more reliable subject tracking.

Film Simulation Dial: Creative Control at Your Fingertips

One of the standout features is the new Film Simulation dial located on the top left of the camera body. This intuitive control allows photographers to switch between 20 Film Simulation modes instantly, recreating classic analogue film looks without post-processing.

Popular modes include “REALA ACE” for accurate colour reproduction and “NOSTALGIC Neg.” for high-saturation imagery with soft gradation. The dial also features three customizable positions (FS1 to FS3) where users can save their own “FS recipes” with preferred image quality settings.

Advanced Autofocus for Worry-Free Shooting

The X-T30 III features Fujifilm’s latest subject detection autofocus system, making it easier to capture sharp images of moving subjects. Whether shooting portraits, wildlife, or action scenes, the camera’s intelligent AF system tracks subjects reliably.

For beginners, the retained AUTO shooting mode switch lever simplifies photography. In AUTO mode, the camera automatically recognizes subjects, tracks them, and handles technical settings, allowing photographers to focus purely on composition.

Professional Video Capabilities

Videographers will appreciate the X-T30 III’s robust video specifications:

6.2K/30P recording in 4:2:2 10-bit colour

4K/60P video recording

High frame rate 1080p/240P for slow-motion footage

9:16 Short Movie Mode optimized for social media content

Powerful electronic image stabilization for smooth handheld footage

The advanced image stabilization reduces both minor hand shake and larger movements, making the camera suitable for vlogging and run-and-gun videography.

Fujifilm X-T30 III Pricing and Availability

The Fujifilm X-T30 III body will retail for R19,560 (incl. VAT) when it launches on 6 December 2025. A kit version bundled with the new XC13-33mmF3.5-6.3 lens will be available in the second week of December 2025 for R23,000.

New Fujinon XC13-33mmF3.5-6.3 OIS Lens

Alongside the X-T30 III, Fujifilm has introduced the Fujinon XC13-33mmF3.5-6.3 OIS lens. This compact wide-angle zoom covers 13mm to 33mm (equivalent to 20mm-50mm in 35mm format), making it ideal for landscapes, street photography, and everyday shooting.

Despite its versatile focal range, the lens measures just 37.5mm in length and weighs approximately 125g—making it the smallest and lightest zoom lens in Fujifilm’s lineup. When paired with the X-T30 III, the combination delivers exceptional portability without compromising on image quality.

The Fujinon XC13-33mmF3.5-6.3 OIS will be available in South Africa during January 2026 for R8,280 (incl. VAT).

Who Is the Fujifilm X-T30 III For?

The X-T30 III is designed to appeal to both photography newcomers and experienced enthusiasts. Its intuitive controls and AUTO mode make it accessible to beginners, while the advanced manual controls, Film Simulation options, and professional video features satisfy more demanding users.

The camera’s compact size makes it an excellent choice for travel photography, street shooting, and everyday use where portability is essential but image quality cannot be compromised.

Key Specifications:

Sensor: 26.1MP X-Trans CMOS 4 (back-illuminated)

Processor: X-Processor 5

Earlier this month, Fujifilm South Africa further emphasised their support for print with the launch and introduction of a new photo printing app called Print A Photie.

With the Print A Photie app installed on a smartphone or tablet, users are able to select their best images to send for printing to more than 70 Fujifilm-backed print stores around South Africa. Users can also print photos directly from their personal computers, making use of a dedicated website.

There are several print sizes to choose from, including the standard 10x15cm Jumbo print, through to A5, A4 and the poster size A3 (30x40mm). Users can select as many photos as they wish and select more than one print of the same photo.

Prints can then be picked up in-store on the same day or delivered via courier at an extra cost.

According to Fujifilm, the idea for the Print A Photie app came about during the Covid-19 pandemic as customers were reluctant to touch surfaces in store, which meant the touchscreen photo print machines were used less often.

“Having a photo printed is to ensure that a memory stays with you forever. And at Fujifilm we encourage you to not just print a photo for yourself, but to also share printed memories with others. With the Print A Photie app, this is now easier than ever,” said Deon Brits, Imaging Solutions Division Manager at Fujifilm South Africa.

Fujifilm has revealed the X-S10, its latest mirrorless camera and one which seems tailor-made for vloggers aimed to take on the likes of the Sony ZV-1 and anybody else hoping for a super-portable way to shoot 4K video.

The camera combines a 26.1-megapixel camera with a new five-axis image stabilization system, which Fujifilm says is good for a whopping 6 stops.

It relies on a newly-developed in-body image stabilization (IBIS) mechanism, Fujifilm says, which manages to be smaller yet more effective than the old system in the X-T4. In fact, it’s 30-percent smaller and lighter, with a new sensor for tracking micro-movements and a shock-absorbing mechanism for preventing vibrations when the shutter is released.

The sensor is Fujifilm’s X-Trans CMOS 4, with phase detection pixels and the X-Processor 4 engine. As a result, autofocus can be as fast as 0.02 seconds, the company says, with support for tracking AF, Face/Eye AF, and low-light conditions down to -7.0EV.

In the mechanical shutter mode, the X-S10 can do up to 8fps burst shooting. Switch to electronic shutter, and that kicks up to 30fps, which Fujifilm says is blackout-free, so that the viewfinder never blacks out while it’s capturing images. There are 18 Film Simulation modes, meanwhile, and a new AUTO/SP (Scene Position) mode which promises to adjust the settings proactively according to the scene the X-S10 is faced with. That might mean bumping up the saturation in landscapes, or the dynamic range in portraits.

On the video side, there’s 4K output from 6K’s worth of data, Fujifilm claims, for a reduction in noise. There’s up to 4K/30P 4:2:0 8-bit video onto SD storage, or 4K/30P 4:2:2 10-bit video output via the X-S10’s HDMI port. Alternatively, you can shoot up to 240fps in Full HD mode, for up to 10x slow-motion video. There’s a microphone input on the side.

Electronic image stabilization is active during video recording, while there’s a dedicated video capture button on the top panel. Hit that during still shooting, and the camera will automatically switch to the optimum video settings, Fujifilm says.

As for the physical design, the X-S10 has a magnesium-alloy grip and tips the scales at 465g. There’s a mode dial with four dedicated user-customizable settings slots, and a variable position LCD screen to go along with the EVF. There are three Live View boost modes: Low Light Priority, Resolution Priority, and Frame Rate Priority.

Sales of the Fujifilm X-S10 kick off mid-November 2020. It’ll be priced at R18 000, for the body only, or as part of two kits. One will bundle the X-S10 with Fujifilm’s 18-55 f/2.8-4 lens for R24 000, while the other will pair it with a 16-80 f/4 lens for R26 000.

Despite the onslaught of smartphones and their sophisticated cameras, camera makers have found some respite even on the entry-level market thanks to the unexpected popularity of “Polaroid” type non-digital cameras.

Thanks to advancements in both imaging and inkless printing technologies, these instant cameras have captured the hearts and pockets of many hobbyist photographers who find something alluring about the design and simplicity of these products. Building upon that, Fujifilm is launching a new INSTAX Mini 11 that adds just a bit of smarts without going into digital camera territory.

One of the disadvantages of such simple instant cameras is that you really have little to no control over their settings. In a way, it is both simpler but also requires a bit more photography know-how to get the perfect shot. With the new Automatic Exposure, which senses ambient light the moment you press the shutter button, even novice users will be able to take good-looking photos no matter the condition.

Selfies are also harder to pull off with instant cameras but the INSTAX Mini 11 has a rather curious solution. Pull out the front edge of the lens to activate “Selfie Mode” and then and then use the small mirror next to the lens to frame the shot. While that mode can support subjects 30 to 50 cm away, Fujifilm does warn about some shifting in closeups.

The design of INSTAX Mini cameras has always leaned more on the whimsical and fun side while retaining part of the appearance of professional cameras. For the INSTAX Mini 11, Fujifilm is allowing for some customization by changing shutter buttons. Included in the package is a jewel button that matches the color of the camera as well as a glow button that glows in the dark.

The FUJIFILM instax mini 11 will be available locally starting mid-July 2020, retailing for R1 199, or as a kit with one pack of instax film (10 prints) for R1 349.

Earlier today Fujifilm announced the X-T4, its next flagship camera in the X series. There’s a lot of anticipation riding on this announcement, and the X-T4 has a number of features that may make it worth a look for photographers. Key among those big features is in-body image stabilisation (IBIS).

More specifically, the X-T4 is capable of five-axis IBIS, which works in tandem with the camera’s four-axis digital image stabiliser. With those two combined, Fujifilm says that the X-T4 will provide up to 6.5 stops of image stabilisation, but that’s only true when using “selected Fujifilm XF lenses.”

The X-T4 will also feature a new X-Trans 26.1MP CMOS 4 sensor and a quad-core X-Processor 4, a combination that the company says will lend to images with wide dynamic range and fast autofocus. With its mechanical shutter, the camera will be capable of snapping 26.1MP images at 15 frames per second. That shutter is rated for 300,000 actuations as well.

The company says that the X-T4 comes with a larger battery – presumably compared to the X-T3 – but doesn’t specifically say how big that battery is, only saying that it’ll provide up to 600 frames per charge. Actual usage time will vary, particularly if you’re making heavy use of the 3-inch LCD display, which can be hidden away during times when you only want to use the viewfinder.

As far as video is concerned, the X-T4 is capable of switching into movie mode, which allows for DCI 4K/60p and full HD/240p super slow motion recording. Finally, Fujifilm has added ETERNA Bleach Bypass to its lineup of film simulation modes, which will provide a “de-saturated, high-contrast look” to photos. We’ll see the X-T4 launch in black and silver possibly in April (TBC), with a price tag of of R26 000 for the body, and R31 000 for the kit that includes the Fujinon 18-55mm f/2.8-4 zoom lens.

Fujifilm has unveiled its newest compact digital camera dubbed the X100V. This model joins the company’s expansive X100 product line, offering a combination of advanced features, a new lens, and an improved hybrid viewfinder.

The company plans to release the model next month with a series of optional accessories, including a genuine leather carrying and storage case.

Though smartphones offer more than enough camera capabilities for the average person, some users want something more capable — that’s where compact digital cameras often come in. These models are small enough that they’re not a burden to carry around, yet they offer more functionality and support for accessories when compared to flagship smartphones.

The Fujifilm X100V is the fifth model in the company’s X100 product line; it packs an X-Processor 4 and an X-Trans CMOS 4 image sensor, 26-megapixel resolution, and a new 23mm F2 lens. In addition to the model’s two-way tilting LCD with touch support, the X100V also features a hybrid viewfinder that includes 0.52x magnification (optical) and 3.69 million-dot OLED (electronic).

Despite its small size, the X100V camera has impressive shooting capabilities with support for 4K video at 30fps and Full HD video at 120fps. Users have the option of recording in 4:2:2 10-bit, plus there are film simulations available to give the videos a certain look. As well, videos can be adjusted with different shooting modes like “Monochrome Adjustments.”

Other features include aluminum top and bottom plates, weather-resistant construction, support for the AR-X100 adapter ring, support for the PRF-49 protective filter, as well as a dedicated ISO dial and satin coating finish. The model will be available starting March 2020 for R19 500.

Despite what naysayers and your third cousins have proclaimed in the past, smartphones have not completely wiped out even the entry-level cameras. In fact, it has only pushed camera makers to step up their game even with its amateur-oriented shooters, endowing them with features not even the highest end smartphone can ever get. In that vein, Fujifilm is annoucing the new X-A7 mirrorless digital camera that boasts an image sensor with high megapixels and a relatively rare feature to boot.

The compact and lightweight camera comes with an all-new APS-C sensor that boasts of 24.24 effective megapixels. That number might seem low compared to 48 megapixel smartphones but even those smartphones have proven that it’s not all about the number of pixels. In this case, the Fujifilm X-A7 introduces copper wiring for its biggest advertised perk: autofocus.

According to the camera maker, the copper wiring empowers the sensor to have high-speed data readout. Coupled with phase detection pixels spread throughout the entire sensor surface, the camera is capable of fast and accurate autofocus that can track faces and eyes with ease.

The latter is extremely useful considering one of photographers’ favorite use cases. For the first time in an X-series, the Fujifilm X-A7 sports a 3.5-inch vari-angle LCD monitor that makes short work of selfies and vlogging. The camera is capable of recording 4K videos at 30 fps, which is also becoming en vogue among YouTubers and even live streamers.

With a 320 g body, or 455 g with its kit lens, the camera is the line’s lightest compact yet. Bluetooth Low Energy makes it easy to communicate with a smartphone or tablet to complete the workflow. The camera will come in colour options of Camel, Silver, Mint Green, Dark Silver at a recommended retail price of R12 000 when it launches in October. Wait for our hands-on review with it.

The Fujifilm X-T3 has been on the market for a while now and it bring us great pleasure to have had it for a week to put it to the test. The design and general aesthetic are synonymous with Fujifilm, however, it’s on the inside where it counts the most. Fujifilm has stuffed this light weight camera with great technology making it one of the most desirable camera’s on the market right now.

The X-T3 has a new backlit sensor with Fujifilm colours and has improved low light performance and the video quality has been improved compared to the previous model, X-T2. One thing I’ve noticed is that in order for you to be able to live share your images you have to shoot both JPEG and RAW. But the jpegs are still so good that they still have so much detail in them especially in the shadows where some details tend to get lost. Don’t get me wrong, RAW files are still better but, in the age where you have to live upload you need a superfast turnaround time and that’s where great jpegs come to play. On burst mode the X-T3 has been claimed to shoot 11 fps and on silent mode 30 fps.

The autofocus on this camera has to be one of my favourite features as its super responsive and adjusts just as quickly because of the face and eye detector focus. The only let down is that the rear screen. This does not flip enough to allow one to vlog without wondering if they’ve cropped off their head or if they’ve zoomed in too much. The X-T3 can shoot 4K, 24 fps at 400mbps. What this means is that the camera is able to absorb so much more information to make grading and additional changes in post so much better. Shooting 4K, 60 fps at 200mbps allows one to get incredible slow-motion footage in 4K. Another great feature is the ability to shoot F-log on the X-T3 as this always gives better room for grading the video in post. Something that could be a letdown is the lack of in body stabilization, this may be a deal breaker to some videographers out there.

All of these features go hand in hand with the new X-Processor 4, a quad-core CPU that promises thrice the speed of its current X series. Then there’s the AF system with 2.16 million phase detection pixel that covers nearly 100% of sensor. This makes it possible to use PDAF even in low light conditions and face-detection on a moving person.

If I were to switch cameras this would definitely be high up there for consideration.

Even with all the external buttons Fujifilm has designed the camera to have them customizable to the user’s satisfaction. I also found that the menu settings do get a bit tricky. But that didn’t bother me too much. The ISO, shutter speed and exposure compensation dials each have a center button that can be pressed to avoid the setting from easily changing while shooting. This model also has dual SD card slots which I’ve noticed to be quite favourable to some photographers, a USB-C port that can be used for either charging, or can allow the camera to be used while plugged in to an external source of power.

A headphone slot has also been included in the body unlike the previous model. The back screen is touchscreen and can be used to focus when recording video or also use It to take an image by touching it for stills. However, one cannot use the touch screen when in the menu function.

One can expect to pay around R25 000 for the body only with additional add-on’s that can be purchased separately. Personally, if I were to switch camera’s this would definitely be high up there for consideration. Getting a well-priced camera with great specs. Another thing I enjoyed most about this camera is the size. This would be great when travelling and it doesn’t feel like you’re trying too hard when its strapped down from your neck.

Fujifilm has announced that it’s expanding its Instax line with a very interesting camera. Dubbed the Instax Mini LiPlay, this new camera allows you to instantly print the photos you take, but it does so with a twist. In addition to taking and printing photos, you can also capture the audio from the moment the picture was shot and play it back by scanning a QR code that appears on the printed image.

Necessary? Hardly. Interesting? Definitely. The LiPlay has a button dedicated to capturing audio, and when you press it, it’ll record up to 10 seconds of sound. From there, your image will print with QR code on it, which can be scanned with your smartphone to view the image and hear the audio together. While we imagine that most audio clips will amount to nothing more than people shouting the word “smile” at each other, the sound functionality could be a nifty tool for reliving some particularly happy memories.

The LiPlay supports two different kinds of Instax film: the Confetti mini-format and the Star-Illumination square format. You don’t have to print all of the photos you take, though, which is good news indeed because each Instax film stack only includes enough film for 10 pictures. The LiPlay has enough internal storage for around 45 photos, though you can also add a microSD card to expand on that.

The 2.7-inch LCD display on the back will let you cycle through your stored photos to help you find the best ones for printing, but you’re not limited to only printing the photos on your LiPlay. You can also connect your phone to the camera and print photos in your camera roll using the LiPlay’s “Direct Print” feature.

Other specifications include an capture resolution of 2560 x 1920, a battery that’s said to last for 100 prints on a full charge, a 1/5-inch CMOS sensor, and a remote shooting function that lets you control the camera and snap pictures from your smartphone (assuming you’ve got the LiPlay app, which is also required if you want to capture audio). It’s definitely not the most capable digital camera around, but it should be a decent choice for people who like instant cameras. We’ll see the Instax Mini LiPlay launch in three beautifully stylish colours – Blush Gold, Stone White and Elegant Black, at the opening of the FUJIFILM PrintLife Exhibition, scheduled to run at Sandton City Centre Court from 19-24 June 2019 at R2 499.

May 15 2019 marked the relaunch of the Fujifilm innovation Centre Africa (FICA). First opening its doors in 2018, the relaunch is in the light of new developments which were not present yet to their Roodepoort facility.

Not only does Fujifilm boast great camera’s and being at the forefront of printing solutions for both home and wide format use, they’re also known for their strong heritage in medical systems, digital and computer radiography systems, and X-Ray films. The company has continued to innovate and is also expecting to lead the way in digital mammography X-Ray unit with 3D capability. Through artificial intelligence (AI) the company seeks to assist medical practitioners in clinical decision- making, this is possible as the software will learn from medical professionals and with this accelerate complex diagnosis.

Through artificial intelligence (AI) the company seeks to assist medical practitioners in clinical decision- making

On the printing front Fujifilm is pushing toward greener solutions in order to provide sustainable practices on the continent. The company’s primary focus is in reducing chemical usage in their range of Superia CTP Offset Plates, this also includes reduced usage consumption of both water and energy for commercial, newspaper and packaging printers.

Photography has always been the most commercially know sector within Fujifilm and the company continues to stride ahead with its mirrorless camera’s. Another widely known camera is the Instax camera that is slowly melting the hearts of consumers. FICA also boasts a concept shop called Wonder Photo Shop whereby people can walk in and print their images, get them framed and even purchase additional accessories such as photobooks to store their prints.

Fujifilm as a company never stops to innovate and the various sectors touched on are true testament to the slogan on their wall “Never Stop”. They understand that innovation keeps you relevant and more importantly it helps change lives. Fujifilm also understands that continued support and training is also at the heart of keeping a product functioning at its optimal. FICA is now the hub of training to its customers and is equipped with state of the art equipment and staff that are well equipped with knowledge to take you through its intricacies.

Fujifilm corp earlier today introduced two new models to its X-rage of cameras: welcome the X-E2 and X-Q1.

The X-E2 is a direct upgrade to the X-E1 that brings the company’s 16.3-megapixel X-Trans CMOS II sensor and EXR Processor II to a mid-tier interchangeable lens design, giving welcome boosts to both the image quality and autofocusing speed. Software upgrades like split image display and 60 fps 1080p video come along with the new hardware, and there’s both WiFi photo transfers as well as a much sharper one-megapixel, three-inch preview LCD. The X-E2 will start retailing in November for our US friends at around $1,000 (R10 000) in body-only form, or $1,400 R14 000) when paired with an 18-55mm f/2.8-4 zoom lens.

Photographers looking for a more pocketable shooter will want to look at the XQ1. The 12-megapixel compact cam is a spiritual successor to the XF1 that ditches the faux leather look in favor of a plainer, smaller body. It still has a non-removable 25-100mm f/1.8-4.9 lens, but it gets the X-E2’s image processing upgrades and WiFi. An improved three-inch, 920,000-pixel LCD is present as well. Both the X-E2 and XQ1 are still to be confirmed locally.
