Car enthusiasts and LEGO fans of all ages can rejoice! The LEGO Racing Garage event has taken over the Mall of Africa’s Centre Court, offering a unique experience that celebrates the world of cars and imaginative building.
Running from July 5th to 14th, the LEGO Racing Garage boasts an impressive display of intricate car builds. Gearheads will be impressed by iconic LEGO Technic creations like the Mercedes-AMG F1 W14 E Performance, a detailed 1:8 scale model featuring a functioning six-cylinder engine with moving pistons.

The exhibition doesn’t stop there. Fans of sleek supercars can marvel at the LEGO Technic Lamborghini Huracán Tecnica in a stunning sunset orange, complete with a replica V10 engine, opening doors, and realistic steering.
For those who revere racing legends, the LEGO ICONS McLaren MP4/4 will be a highlight. This homage to Ayrton Senna’s championship-winning car is considered one of the most successful F1 racers ever built. Visitors can admire the meticulous detailing that captures the spirit of the 1988 racer, complete with a displayable Ayrton Senna minifigure.

But the LEGO Racing Garage isn’t just about admiring impressive builds. Younger LEGO fans are well catered for with a dedicated section showcasing sets from the LEGO City range. This includes the sporty LEGO City Green Race Car with its cool spoiler and racing tires, as well as the LEGO City Go-Karts and Race Drivers, complete with minifigures ready to take the checkered flag.

The true heart of the event for younger visitors, however, is the #LEGOBuiltforSpeed racetrack. Here, children can get hands-on with their love of racing. From thrilling races against the clock to exciting pit stop challenges, the racetrack offers an engaging space for building and racing their own LEGO car creations.
The LEGO Racing Garage is a free event, open to the public from 9am to 6pm daily.
