The Volvo EX30, which is currently on our review driveway, has garnered another prestigious accolade, receiving the Red Dot Award: Best of the Best Product Design 2024. This award recognizes excellence in design across four key areas: functionality, emotional appeal, usability, and sustainability.
Facing stiff competition, the EX30 impressed the jury of 39 international design experts with a near-perfect score of 93/100.
“The EX30 embodies Volvo’s design values in a compact package,” said Jim Rowan, CEO at Volvo Cars. “It showcases premium Scandinavian design where form follows function.”
The EX30 boasts the lowest carbon footprint of any fully electric Volvo to date, while maintaining the brand’s renowned safety standards. Packed with cutting-edge technology, the EX30 is a clear contender in the rapidly growing electric car market.
Design Highlights
The EX30’s design prioritizes both aesthetics and practicality. A long wheelbase, large wheels, and balanced overhangs create a refined and harmonious exterior. The use of natural and recycled materials throughout the car reflects Volvo’s commitment to sustainability.
The spacious interior, optimized for an electric vehicle layout, features a central theme for storage, controls, and screens. This approach results in a flexible cabin with a premium feel.
Award-Winning Design
Unveiled late 2023, the EX30 has already collected over 20 major design awards.
