It’s not everyday that you wake up to an exciting email from the team at Savanna, well, not since they confirmed partnering with us at our 4th birthday a few months ago.
This morning was different, the premium cider announced that they’re firing up the scene bringing one of the world’s hottest names in stand-up, actor Kevin Hart, on his first ever tour to South Africa. I’m sure by now you could tell from my Facebook and Twitter updates – in the wee hours of this morning – that we’re uber excited to welcome Mr Hart on his first ever South Afican tour.
The tour forms part of his ‘Kevin Hart What Now? Comedy Tour’ that made its debut in Texas in April this year with sell-out performances throughout the USA, Canada, UK and Australia. The South African leg of the tour is set to kick off in March 2016 with shows in Cape Town, Durban and Johannesburg.
Keeping up with all things tech, I fell in love with Kevin following his stint on EA Sports when the publisher kicked off an ad campaign that starred him and “Neighbors” actor Dave Franco. The three-minute commercial featured cameos from NFL players like 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick, Eagles running back LeSean McCoy, Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant and Broncos linebacker Von Miller, in which the players sputter “blah blah blah” for a good 15 seconds. Long story short; The majority of the ad revolves around Hart trying to get in Franco’s head before Madden season kicks off, leading up to Franco taking an early lead in a Madden 15 match while his house is on fire. No lie.
“Savanna’s association with this unconventional, world class entertainer is spot on for the brand which is why we have gone all out to bring Kevin Hart to South Africa on his very first visit to the African continent. His rise to fame as the ultimate maverick exemplifies Savanna’s left-of-centre attitude and shunning of the ordinary,” said Marcel Swain, Savanna SA Marketing Manager when asked for comment.
