I don’t normally need any more reason to think about food during the day other than it exists. But when South Africa’s favourite and most legendary bar, Lunch Bar sends you an email alerting you of their 50th birthday, its customary that you oblige.
Since its launch in 1965 the ‘much more munch’ bar (who doesn’t remember that Makhathini ad) has inspired its fans to act on their potential, giving them the drive to perform and the kick-start to surprise the world with their talents and abilities. And so, over the past 50 years, Lunch Bar has celebrated many of its own successes, such as retaining its position as South Africa’s #1 selling chocolate bar since 2008, whilst also filling the spot as the 2nd largest chocolate brand after Cadbury Dairy Milk. Impressive stuff, right?
To celebrate this golden anniversary, Lunch Bar is tapping into the talents of local SA designers, AfrikanSwiss and Skinny Sbu Socks, in a collaboration to produce a limited edition Lunch Bar-inspired range of T-shirts and socks. The range will celebrate the rich and colourful heritage of South Africa’s most iconic chocolate bar by encouraging consumers to share their talents with a Lunch Bar-inspired design on Lunch Bar’s official Facebook page using the hashtag #LunchBar50.
Two of these designs will then be selected as winners to feature on the limited edition range of T-shirts and socks alongside the Lunch Bar-inspired designs of AfrikanSwiss and Skinny Sbu Socks – so get designing!
Lunch Bar is the perfect chocolate bar generously packed with chunky peanuts, crisped rice, delicious wafer and chewy caramel all smothered in a thick layer of rich Cadbury Dairy Milk Chocolate. A delicious mix of ingredients that fills you up with every bite as you tackle the road ahead of you. How I’m drooling right now…
