The first Volvo EX30 electric SUVs in the eye-catching Moss Yellow colour have landed in South Africa, adding a new option to the recently launched car’s palette.
While yellow isn’t a common colour for modern Volvos, the company has a history with the hue, using it on classic models like the P1900 and 1800ES. This new Moss Yellow shade is unique to the EX30, which marks Volvo’s entry into the growing electric vehicle market.

Drawing Inspiration from Nature
Unlike the launch colour, Cloud Blue, which referenced Swedish skies, Moss Yellow draws inspiration from the lichens found on the rocks of Sweden’s west coast. In South Africa, Moss Yellow is exclusive to the mid-tier Plus and top-of-the-line Ultra trims, and it’s the most vibrant of the five colours available. All Moss Yellow EX30s come with a standard Onyx Black roof.
“The Moss Yellow colour emphasizes the EX30’s character and makes it a real head-turner,” said Greg Maruszewski, Managing Director of Volvo Car SA. “This colour aligns with the EX30’s position in the electric vehicle segment, where it aims to stand out with its blend of performance, luxury, safety, and value.”
