It’s no secret that we love all things tech here and one of the fascinating things we have seen in motion lately is ThinQ Technology. This type of tech is something that gets us most excited. This was further elevated when the tech was showcased at this year’s CES event. It comes purely from a fascination, studying the tech, basic research as well as info received from the LG guys.
Kicking things off with a bit of a story; a few decades ago, it was nothing unusual to see travellers whip out huge, bulky roadmaps to try and navigate their surroundings. Today, however, we’ve become so accustomed to the value of technology; the instant gratification of having all the answers at our fingertips, the ease of the experience and the ultimate convenience that comes from combining a compact Internet-friendly device with state-of-the-art technology.
Yet, as you know, the rise of technology didn’t quite end there. From TVs to robot vacuums and even smart refrigerators, Artificial Intelligence (AI) is changing every aspect of our lives – for the better. These devices have almost become equal to personal assistants, enabling personalised user preferences while keeping energy, efficiency at the forefront. Such are the advancements in tech over the years that we can even mention all the above at once without blinking in disbelief.
Below is an illustration of it in action:
One company seemingly proving to be pioneers in this technological innovation is LG, with its ThinQ-enabled product offerings specifically. Marketed as an innovation that brings new intelligence to connected living with smart and AI-powered appliances and electronics, the company has added many ThinQ-enabled products to help improve the quality of our (its consumers) lives.
Take, for example, their AI TV that connects to both Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa. This feature has the potential to transform the way we live, work and play. It’s powerful enough to detect lighting levels and optimise screen brightness, accordingly. Alternatively, the user can say a command and let the innovative smart AI system satisfy your curiosity with customisable recommendations and device control.
The ThinQ App, which you can download on your phone, gives you access to your compatible appliances – you can turn on your aircon on the drive home so that you can arrive at a perfectly cooled – or heated – space. It also gives you the power to run diagnostics on your LG appliances, which means that you don’t need to call out a repairer every time something makes a strange noise.
Not only is smart technology improving most of our living experiences, but it is helping us to become more energy conscious, contributing to a greener future. Even small changes can ultimately make a big difference.
Everything is made simpler with smart technologies. It’s already changing the world and shaping our daily lives for the better. Granted there’s still massive connectivity issues on our continent which make these technologies hard to enjoy but with projects such as 2Africa there’s no doubt that it’s a matter of when not if. It isn’t that far fetched to think about especially since some of us are already seeing and experiencing this type of tech at play in our daily lives. Question is, are you ready for it?
