After all, once all the CES and MWC dust has settled that’s when all the hard work begins. The waiting. Just as we were losing hope as to when and how some of Hewlett Packard’s devices are to go on sale and if ever they’re going to reach the African market, they surprise is with a release to end the week off.
HP released quite a few products this year, as is the norm with CES and MWC releases, but we’re to emphasize on those approved to reach South Africa; the Pavilion x360, ElitePad and ProPad 600. All of these devices are scheduled to reach us later this month (March) with pricing starting at €399 (R5999) for the x360 said to be available in Brilliant Red and Smoke Silver. A lower price means lesser specs, which in this case include a Pentium-series Intel Bay Trail processor, a 500GB hard drive (no SSDs here) and a 1,366 x 768 display. On the bright side, the display uses IPS technology for wider viewing angles, and HP also included Beats Audio.Three USB ports and a full-sized HDMI socket might further sweeten the deal for prospective buyers. Pricing and model variants of the ElitePad and ProPad 600 are still to be confirmed.
