Jason Bateman is widely synonymous with comedy titles which consequently classified him as, well, a comedian over the years. This was the case until we saw him in a completely different role, specifically on one of Netflix’s hit TV series, Ozark. Complete with an unassuming name, we recall being intrigued the first time we came across it. A guy whose known for his comedic work starring in a serious role in what looked like an interesting conceptual series in the mould of a Breaking Bad. We were always going to be hooked.
The first season was such a hit that the thought of a follow up season was a no brainer. The great news is that there’s now a trailer for us to enjoy until we get to see it in full on Netflix. Check out the premise as well as the aforementioned trailer below:
The Premise
Ozark continues to follow Marty Bryde and his family as they navigate the murky waters of life within a dangerous drug cartel. With Del out, the crime syndicate sends their ruthless attorney Helen Pierce to town to shake things up just as the Byrdes are finally settling in. Marty and Wendy struggle to balance their family interests amid the escalating dangers presented by their partnerships with the power-hungry Snells, the cartel, and their new deputy, Ruth Langmore, whose father, Cade, has been released from prison. The stakes are even higher than before, and the Byrdes soon realize they have to go all in before they can get out.
