Samsung South Africa has unveiled its latest Galaxy A55 5G and Galaxy A35 5G smartphones which will go on sale on 1 April 2024.
The two smartphones demonstrate Samsung’s ongoing commitment to making the best of mobile innovations available to literally everyone.

The Samsung Galaxy A55 5G features a 6.6-inch Super AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate for smooth visuals. The triple-camera system on the back includes a 50MP main sensor, a 12MP ultra-wide sensor, and a 5MP macro sensor. It also boasts a 32MP front-facing camera for selfies and video calls.
For power users, the A55 5G comes with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The phone is powered by the Exynos 1480 processor and supports 5G connectivity.
Security is enhanced with Samsung Knox Vault, which isolates sensitive data in a secure execution environment. The A55 5G also benefits from four generations of Android OS and One UI upgrades and five years of security updates.

The Galaxy A35 5G is another mid-range smartphone that offers many of the same features as the A55 5G. It also has a 6.6-inch Super AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a triple-camera system on the back. However, the main camera sensor is 50MP, the ultra-wide sensor is 8MP, and the front-facing camera is 13MP. The A35 5G comes with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.
Like the A55 5G, the A35 5G is powered by the Exynos 1480 processor and supports 5G connectivity. It also has Samsung Knox Vault security and will receive four generations of Android OS and One UI upgrades and five years of security updates.
The 256GB Galaxy A55 5G will go on sale for R11 499 in either Awesome Navy or Awesome Iceblue.
The Galaxy A35 5G is priced at R7 999 with 128GB of internal storage in Awesome Navy, Awesome Iceblue or Awesome Lilac.
