In a dazzling visual takeover, Disney’s “TRON: Ares” lit up The Leonardo in Sandton, Johannesburg last week transforming the Jozi’s skyline into a glowing celebration of the electrifying next chapters of Disney’s seminal “TRON” franchise.
The 234-metre skyscraper was illuminated with striking “TRON: Ares” – inspired visuals, echoing the film’s digital world and signature neon aesthetic, symbolising the film’s bold leap from the digital world into the real world.

This Johannesburg moment adds to “TRON: Ares” global celebration, following a series of international stunts and activations that have captured audiences’ imaginations around the world.
“TRON: Ares” follows a highly sophisticated Program, Ares, who is sent from the digital world into the real world on a dangerous mission, marking humankind’s first encounter with A.I. beings. The feature film is directed by Joachim Rønning and stars Jared Leto, Greta Lee, Evan Peters, Jodie Turner-Smith, Hasan Minhaj, Arturo Castro and Cameron Monaghan, with Gillian Anderson and Jeff Bridges.
Sean Bailey, Jared Leto, p.g.a., Emma Ludbrook, p.g.a., Jeffrey Silver, Justin Springer, p.g.a., and Steven Lisberger are the producers, with Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross, Russell Allen, and Joseph Kosinski serving as executive producers. The screenplay is by Jesse Wigutow, with story by David DiGilio and Wigutow, based on characters created by Steven Lisberger and Bonnie MacBird.
Disney’s “TRON: Ares” is now showing in cinemas nationwide.
