The 2020 Festival of Motoring, previously scheduled for August, has been officially called off.
Originally planned for August this year, the 2020 show was postponed due to the pandemic. Messe Frankfurt South Africa, which organises the show, announced earlier today that the uncertain logistics of the pandemic and its impact on the industry and the economy at large, it thought it in the best interest.
“We pride ourselves in putting together world class events and this decision has not been taken lightly. It is important that we support the industry and offer a platform that meets its needs,” said Joshua Low, Managing Director of Messe Frankfurt SA. “We have been engaging with the industry over the past two months and the view is that they would like to support the event and would aim to do so in 2021.”
The organisers will now focus their efforts on planning for next year’s show, to be held sometime in August 2021. The exact date is yet to be confirmed.
