Fujifilm South Africa has unveiled the X-T30 III, the latest addition to its acclaimed X Series mirrorless camera lineup. Set to arrive in South Africa on 6 December 2025, this compact powerhouse promises professional-grade image quality in a lightweight package.
Lightweight Design Meets Professional Performance
The Fujifilm X-T30 III weighs just 378g, making it one of the lightest cameras in its class. Its classic centre viewfinder design maintains the timeless aesthetic Fujifilm cameras are known for, while packing cutting-edge technology inside.
At the heart of the X-T30 III sits a 26.1MP X-Trans CMOS 4 back-illuminated sensor paired with the X-Processor 5 image processing engine—the same processor found in Fujifilm’s flagship X-T5. This combination delivers twice the processing speed of its predecessor, the X-T30 II, ensuring faster performance and more reliable subject tracking.
Film Simulation Dial: Creative Control at Your Fingertips
One of the standout features is the new Film Simulation dial located on the top left of the camera body. This intuitive control allows photographers to switch between 20 Film Simulation modes instantly, recreating classic analogue film looks without post-processing.
Popular modes include “REALA ACE” for accurate colour reproduction and “NOSTALGIC Neg.” for high-saturation imagery with soft gradation. The dial also features three customizable positions (FS1 to FS3) where users can save their own “FS recipes” with preferred image quality settings.

Advanced Autofocus for Worry-Free Shooting
The X-T30 III features Fujifilm’s latest subject detection autofocus system, making it easier to capture sharp images of moving subjects. Whether shooting portraits, wildlife, or action scenes, the camera’s intelligent AF system tracks subjects reliably.
For beginners, the retained AUTO shooting mode switch lever simplifies photography. In AUTO mode, the camera automatically recognizes subjects, tracks them, and handles technical settings, allowing photographers to focus purely on composition.
Professional Video Capabilities
Videographers will appreciate the X-T30 III’s robust video specifications:
- 6.2K/30P recording in 4:2:2 10-bit colour
- 4K/60P video recording
- High frame rate 1080p/240P for slow-motion footage
- 9:16 Short Movie Mode optimized for social media content
- Powerful electronic image stabilization for smooth handheld footage
The advanced image stabilization reduces both minor hand shake and larger movements, making the camera suitable for vlogging and run-and-gun videography.
Fujifilm X-T30 III Pricing and Availability
The Fujifilm X-T30 III body will retail for R19,560 (incl. VAT) when it launches on 6 December 2025. A kit version bundled with the new XC13-33mmF3.5-6.3 lens will be available in the second week of December 2025 for R23,000.
New Fujinon XC13-33mmF3.5-6.3 OIS Lens
Alongside the X-T30 III, Fujifilm has introduced the Fujinon XC13-33mmF3.5-6.3 OIS lens. This compact wide-angle zoom covers 13mm to 33mm (equivalent to 20mm-50mm in 35mm format), making it ideal for landscapes, street photography, and everyday shooting.
Despite its versatile focal range, the lens measures just 37.5mm in length and weighs approximately 125g—making it the smallest and lightest zoom lens in Fujifilm’s lineup. When paired with the X-T30 III, the combination delivers exceptional portability without compromising on image quality.
The Fujinon XC13-33mmF3.5-6.3 OIS will be available in South Africa during January 2026 for R8,280 (incl. VAT).
Who Is the Fujifilm X-T30 III For?
The X-T30 III is designed to appeal to both photography newcomers and experienced enthusiasts. Its intuitive controls and AUTO mode make it accessible to beginners, while the advanced manual controls, Film Simulation options, and professional video features satisfy more demanding users.
The camera’s compact size makes it an excellent choice for travel photography, street shooting, and everyday use where portability is essential but image quality cannot be compromised.
