Hisense’s foray into the smart ULED TV market took off at a rather intimate event in the north of Johannesburg last night. The Chinese manufacturer was full of surprises as it not only introduced two models as we had previously reported, but three and says the brand new 4K TV line-up will reach consumers within this month of September.
The line-up consists of the 55-inch T910UWD, 55-inch K760 and M7000 model in three sizes (55-, 65- and 70-inches) and features Hisense’s 4K ULED TV technology which represents the pinnacle of the company’s research and development. Protected by 17 international patents, the latest ULED 2.0 technology enhances colour, contrast, resolution and motion with a combination of advanced hardware and software. There’s Quantum Dot Technology and wide colour gamut too
Elsewhere, the M7000 model has a quad-core processor powering the TV, plus built-in Wi-Fi, along with a load of smart features and apps including iPlayer and Netflix. Amazon Prime Video (region dependent) is also pre-installed, and seeing as both Netflix and Amazon now allow you to stream 4K content, it’s software worth having.
Meanwhile, the curved K760 set features Smart TV features with Built-in WIFI, 4 HDMI Allows Multiple HD Connection, D-LED Technology, High Contrast Ratio for “Blacker” Blacks & Brighter Colours and Crisp 3840 x 2160 resolution. All sets have “4K up-scaling” capabilities, which enhance HD footage to pure 4K.
According to Hisense South Africa’s Television Product Manager, Serena Lee, the latest ULED range is a true reflection of the quality of the company’s television offering. “Hisense worked hard to develop our unique ULED technology, with version 2.0 now found in our latest range of curved and smart 4K televisions. When compared to similar LED offerings, consumers will find a striking difference in ULED’s wider colour gamut and also in the smooth motion rate,” Lee stated during the launch event.
Pricing for the T910UWD and K760 sets is set at R19 999 respectively, while the M7000 series starts at R14 999
